Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation Review

Update: This post contains products that are NOT cruelty-free and vegan because it was created before I made the switch. Revlon is not a cruelty-free brand.

I love Revlon foundations, especially the Colorstay foundation, so when I saw the newly formulated Photoready Airbrush Effect foundation I knew I needed to test it out.

After a quick Google search and reading some reviews, one thing really stood out to me…     glitter?!

Yes, this foundation is full of glitter! I know there is a heavy highlight / super glowy face trend going on right now so I’m not sure if this is Revlon’s attempt to go with that trend or what.

Weird glitter. Lots of it.

I have been using this as my daily foundation for about a week or so now, so I have a pretty good feel for the product. My first impression was very good! It goes on super smooth and is really blendable.  It has a pretty thick formula so I was worried that it wouldn’t be. I have combination skin, but this foundation didn’t stick to my dry patches or make my t-zone oily. It has medium coverage but doesn’t look or feel cakey. It even lasted on my skin all day going class to class with no touchups.

I really love this foundation, but am super thrown off by the glitter! I didn’t think it was noticeable, until I was outside in direct sunlight. I glanced at my phone and noticed that I could see the sparkles in the reflection on my screen. I looked slightly like a Twighlight vampire.

In low lighting and indoor lighting, the glitter creates a luminous glow and makes your skin look bright and awake. It also looks awesome in photos, even with flash. But bright lighting like natural sunlight makes the glitter very noticeable.

Overall, I like this foundation, but I think I will stick to wearing it in nighttime situations; such as going out with my friends or going out to dinner in the evening.

I would probably not repurchase because I want my foundation to be versatile enough to wear in bright sunlight. I love a bright highlight, just not all over my face!
