Can you believe that it is already November?!
This semester has absolutely flown by. I am in shock that winter break and my last semester of college are right around the corner! I have been so busy with school, blogging, extracurriculars and working that a minimal amount of time has been attributed to my appearance.
Lately, I have been doing everything I can to speed up my routine without looking like a bum! One of my many efforts has been speeding up my makeup routine by trying out different powder foundations.
I have never really taken powder foundations seriously. In the past, if I took the time to actually do my makeup (eyebrows liquid eyeliner, contour, etc) I would always opt for a liquid foundation because I knew it would give me the best coverage and look flawless on my skin. In my experience, powder foundation has always been something to brush on for a quick no-makeup makeup look.
Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation Review
This foundation from Tarte has been a serious game changer! The way I view powder foundation is completely different since finding this product. I have tried so many powder foundations from Bare Minerals, The Body Shop, Maybelline and L’Oréal but none of them have performed as well as this one!
I tried it out at Ulta before purchasing and I was blown away by the number of shades offered and the level of pigment. I was so used to powder foundations looking much too orange or starch white on my skin so the natural looking shades were seriously impressive. Originally, I thought that the full coverage was due to the super dense “Airbuki” brush I was using, but I was actually able to get a very similar look at home with my Real Techniques buffing brush.
Not only does this powder foundation actually give you full to medium coverage, but it stays on your face all day! Of course using primer and setting spray helps, but no other powder foundation I’ve tried lasts hours on end like this one.
The packaging is also a plus because you don’t have to shake the container upside down to get to the product like most other loose powders. You just swirl your brush around the mesh area and it magically sticks to your brush! I have yet to experience any messiness or loose powder spilled all over the bottom of my purse.
The bottom line is that this is the only powder foundation I’ve used that is at all comparable to high-end liquid foundations. I love how it speeds up my morning routine and is good for my skin but still gives me the look of a clearer and even complexion. My skin looks “made up” in a good way that lasts all day or night long.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is weary about powder foundations but still has hope. You will not be disappointed! Leave a comment below with your favorite powder foundation. 🙂
